This study contains a contemporary overview of the European legislation focusing on online intellectual property issues. It examines both European legislation and the separate national legislations, including the main points related to intellectual property rights, the categorization of particular rights included in its content, as well as the evolution and historical development of intellectual property rights. The article also examines a few complications related to intellectual property rights. It examines the basic legal and practical problems of online property rights such as allowing multi-territorial licenses, domain problems, online advertising, recommendations for signing general terms and similar legal issues.
