We bring toyour attention an article especially provided to us by Prof. Dr. Antonio Fernández de Buján y Fernández relating to current issues of the reform of voluntary jurisdiction in Spain. It gives a definition of the term "voluntary jurisdiction" (VJ) draws a distinction betweenVJacts of jurisdictional nature and VJacts of administrative nature. It indicates the need of redistribution of VJpowers within the judicial authority between judges and court secretaries, and limiting the regulation of proceedings that have no practical application. It also specifies the role of the Prosecution and the notaries in the area of voluntary jurisdiction.
