Domestic birth is a modern socio-economic phenomenon that needs legal regulation in the Republic of Bulgaria. This article presents a summary analysis of the opinions about it and its legal regulations. Attention is also paid to the right to abortion, its scope and types. The exhibition analyzes the legislative approach in Bulgaria and the extent to which it meets the recommendations in the 2019 report of the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur, which focuses on issues related to violence against women in maternity care.
