The question of the significance of the entries of various information and data in the National Academic Registry is raised extremely frequently, especially in the context of the various procedures for holding an academic position or acquiring a scientific degree. Therefore, the presentation below attempts to trace and clarify the development of the regulation, according to the Law on the Registration of Academic Positions in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Rules of Procedure for the Registration of Academic Positions in the Republic of Bulgaria and Regulation No. 3 of the Ministry of Education and Science of 04.07.2018 on the terms and conditions for maintaining the Register of Persons Having Acquired the Educational and Scientific Degree "Doctor" and/or the Scientific Degree "Doctor of Sciences", of Defended Dissertations and of Habilitation Persons in the Republic of Bulgaria, in order to be able to draw a conclusion about the significance and nature of the information entered in the register in view of the rights and obligations of those participating in procedures under the Law on the Registration of Academic Positions in the Republic of Bulgaria. The analysis of the regulation took into account both what has been established in practice in the procedures under the RASRB, and the mandatory reasons for the draft law of the National Assembly when adopting the amendments to the RASRB (SG No. 30, 2018), shedding light on the targeted effects.
