Annotation

This article concerns the topic of criminal records and the possibility of practicing the legal profession in the Republic of Bulgaria. A taboo subject in the legal community because a lack of conviction is taken as evidence of positive moral qualities and character traits. A myth debunked in the years of transition by all legal professions. I will thoroughly analyze the situation in the country, comparing our requirements for the admission of lawyers into the justice system, with the requirements of other representatives of the continental legal system and with representatives of the common law system. I will look at the idea of removing the no criminal record requirement through the lens of psychology as well, but most of all, I will also show a different perspective on the judicial system.
