INTERNATIONAL ASPECTS OF THE CONCEPT OF ORGANIZED CRIME

Annotation

The articlestudies the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, taking into account its primary objective - to contribute to the maximum extent possible to the comprehensive international cooperation in combating transnational organized crime. In this context, the "organized criminal group", "serious crime" and "structured group" concepts are clarified.

A stress is placed onthe role of international organizations, in particular the UN, in combating organized crime groups.

The authoralso addresses prevention of crime, which takes increasingly international dimensions and poses serious challenges before the international community in its quest for security and maximum respect for human rights.
